Best rewards credit cards in the UAE: September 2026

Bank points and transferable rewards: the 7 rewards cards Perkly users showed the most interest in during September.

By the Perkly research team · Published · Covers September 2026 · Card details checked 4 October 2026

Based on Perkly data for September 2026: more than 300 card searches, and the card pages, Apply clicks and applications that followed, on perkly.ae between 1 and 30 September 2026. Card fees, rates and offers on this page update live from Perkly’s card database.

Rewards cards pay in points rather than cash or airline Miles, and the best ones let you choose where those points go. They were about 7% of searches on Perkly in September, well behind cashback and travel, and one rewards card was applied for through Perkly. So most of this list rests on Apply clicks and card page visits, weighted as the method below explains.

Three more cards, FAB Z, FAB Elite and Citi Rewards, drew exactly the same interest as the American Express Gold in seventh place and missed the list only on a tie-break.

The key question for any points card is what a point is worth when you spend it, which depends on how you redeem. The card panels below show Perkly's estimate of the return on each category.

ADNOC Rewards

Top rate

15% fuel (partner only)

The top fuel rate applies only at ADNOC service stations, not other fuel networks. The boosted transport rate applies only to Salik, Darb and Mawaqif tolls and parking. The AED 3,000 minimum spend in the previous calendar month applies only to the ADNOC, Salik, Darb and Mawaqif, and supermarket and grocery rates; it does not gate the general UAE retail, international or selected-category rates, and it is not a condition of the card as a whole. Other spend earns a lower standard rate.

15% back in ADNOC Rewards at ADNOC service stations only (partner rate, capped at AED 150 a month), 3% on Salik, Darb and Mawaqif (capped at AED 100) and 1% at supermarkets (capped at AED 100), all three only after a month with at least AED 3,000 of card spend. Other UAE spend earns 1% and international spend 2%, with 0.15% on flights and travel agencies and in selected categories such as utilities and education; 1,000 points are worth AED 1. AED 315 a year (AED 300 plus VAT), waived from year 2 on AED 48,000 of retail spend in the year. Minimum salary AED 5,000.

Best for: Drivers who fill up at ADNOC and put at least AED 3,000 a month on the card.

  • Earn 15% back at ADNOC stations, 2% on international spend, 1% on UAE retail
  • Fast-track to ADNOC Rewards Gold: 50% off coffee/bakery, 35% off carwash vouchers
  • Airport lounge access via Mastercard Travel Pass (1,300+ lounges in 135 countries)

What a point is worth

Points cards quote earn rates in their own currency, so compare what a point buys. Mashreq's Vantage points are a clear example: 380 points buy AED 1 of cashback, but 32 points buy an Emirates Skywards Mile, so the same 380 points are worth about AED 1.34 as Miles at Perkly's value, and more on a good flight. American Express Membership Rewards move to Skywards at 2 points to 1 Mile. Dubai Islamic Bank's Wala'a Rewards on the Prime Platinum are spent through the bank on flights, hotels, shopping and bills; ask DIB whether your card can also exchange them for airline miles before you count on it.

If you would never bother transferring points, a cashback card will probably serve you better. The Perkly wizard ranks every card on your own spending after fees and caps, and flags partner-only rates and minimum spends.

How we built this list

This list is built from what people did on Perkly between 1 and 30 September 2026, not from what banks advertise and not from payments: no bank can pay to appear here or to move up. We count four things per card, and each visit counts once, at the furthest point it reached: an application submitted through Perkly, an application started, a click on Apply now, and a visit to the card's page. Each is weighted by how far it went: an application counts 10, a started application 5, a click on Apply now 3 and a page visit 1, and the list is ordered by the total. So a card many people explored closely can sit above one with a single application, and the signal shown beside each card is its strongest one, not the whole picture.

The data covers more than 300 card searches in September. Our own testing is excluded, and visitors who opted out of analytics are not counted. About one day of activity, 25 September, was lost in a technical incident and is not included. At this scale a single application can move a card several places, so read the order as "what people gravitated to", not as a precise league table. We publish ranks rather than raw counts for the same reason.

Card details in the text were checked on 4 October 2026 against Perkly's card data, which was reviewed bank by bank against each bank's own documents between 26 and 27 September 2026. The fees, earn rates and welcome offers shown in each card panel are live from Perkly's card database, so they stay current after this article was written. Always confirm the final terms with the bank before you apply.
