Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Perkly ("Perkly", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the website at perkly.ae and our related tools and services (the "Service").

Perkly is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and other applicable laws.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

1.1. Information you provide

To generate a recommendation, the Service asks you to share high-level information about yourself, which may include:

  • Your income range or salary band
  • General spending patterns across categories (such as dining, travel, or groceries)
  • Product preferences (such as card category, annual-fee tolerance, or desired features)
  • Any other information you choose to enter into the Service

We do not require you to provide traditional identity documents such as your name, passport, Emirates ID, or bank account details to use the core matching tool. However, financial information such as income and spending (even without a name attached) relates to you and is treated by us as personal data and protected accordingly.

1.2. Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

  • Your IP address, device type, browser type, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, features used, time spent, clicks, and other activity and session data
  • Referring website and approximate location (derived from IP)
  • Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy)

We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the Service, to understand how it is used, and to detect and prevent abuse.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate personalised product recommendations based on the information you provide;
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service and develop new features;
  • Analyse usage and performance through analytics;
  • Monitor activity to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, and breaches of our Terms of Service;
  • Respond to your enquiries sent to us; and
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

3. Legal Basis and Consent

We process your information on the basis of your consent, which you provide by using the Service and submitting information, and where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests (such as operating, securing, and improving the Service) or to comply with a legal obligation. You may withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 8.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Service, remember your inputs during a session, measure performance, and understand usage. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Non-essential analytics are on by default to help us improve the Service: Google Analytics, our own anonymous usage measurement (no personal data, using a short-lived session identifier), and storing the details you enter. 5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers (processors). We use trusted third parties to host the Service, provide analytics, and support our operations. These providers process information only on our instructions and under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Legal and protective reasons. We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, or legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, enforce our Terms of Service, or prevent harm, fraud, or abuse.
  • Business transfers. If Perkly is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We are independent and, unless expressly stated on the Service, we do not currently share your information with banks or card issuers for marketing purposes.

6. International Transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside the United Arab Emirates. Where information is transferred outside the UAE, we take steps to ensure it is protected in accordance with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and that an adequate level of protection is in place.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, for the purposes described in this Policy, and to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Usage and analytics data may be retained in aggregated or anonymised form. Our standard retention period for information you provide is 24 months from your last activity, after which it is deleted or anonymised, unless a longer period is required by law.

8. Your Rights

Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and obtain information about how it is processed;
  • Rectify or correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Delete your personal data in certain circumstances;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on automated decision-making;
  • Request transfer of your data (data portability); and
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@perkly.ae. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office if you believe your data has been handled improperly.

9. Automated Recommendations

Perkly generates recommendations automatically, by matching the information you provide against product information using our matching logic. These recommendations are informational suggestions only and do not make any binding decision about you. You may contact us at admin@perkly.ae if you have questions about how a recommendation was generated or wish to object to automated processing.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will act in accordance with our obligations under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, including notifying the UAE Data Office and affected individuals where required.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the latest version took effect. Changes are effective when posted. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
